STEP 1: DELIVER THE SPECIAL BOOK

 

Wrap the book in a box as a special gift from Santa.

 

For the most magical experience, use red-and-white Christmas wrapping paper or our coordinating Santa Stops Twice™ wrapping paper available on our website.

 

Add our free gift tag label addressed to your child using downloadable gift label download and Santa notecard insert inside the box on top of the book and leave the package somewhere magical:

 

• Under the Christmas tree
• In the mailbox
• By the front door
• Near the fireplace
• Delivered by an elf (optional)

 

Use your creativity and choose the delivery method that will be most exciting for your child.

STEP 2: READ THE STORY TOGETHER

 

When your child discovers the package, act surprised and excited.

 

If they ask what it is, you might say:

 

“I’m not sure! It looks like something arrived early. Let’s find out together!”

 

Open the gift and read the story together from beginning to end.

 

Take your time and allow your child to ask questions as they discover Santa’s special plan.

STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR FAMILY CHRISTMAS DAY

 

After reading the story, explain how special it is that Santa is making an extra stop just for your family.

 

Next, help your child(ren) complete their Letter to Santa.

 

You can either use the letter included in the back of the book or print additional full size downloadable letters from our website for each of your children.

Then sit down together and choose your very own Family Christmas Day™ and help your child(ren) fill out the letter(s).

 

Once completed:

 

• Place the letter in an envelope or use our printable North Pole envelope cover (optional)
• Have child “Mail” the letter to Santa

Circle "Christmas Day" and and your "Family Christmas Day" dates on a calendar or download our printable calendar for your child to start getting excited and begin counting down to their special celebrations.

STEP 4: KEEP THE EXCITEMENT GOING

 

After the letter has been mailed, you can keep things simple or add extra magic.

 

You may choose to:

 

• Leave the book out so your child can read it again and again
• Remind them that Santa will be stopping twice this year! A helpful reminder is to remind them that on Christmas Day he will fill their stocking and bring a special gift but not all of the gifts that day because he is bringing those for their "Family Christmas Day" ™ 
• Use our optional countdown calendar
• Create your own countdown tradition and don't forget to leave out milk and cookies the night before both stops.

 

For an extra magical touch, you can also download Santa’s Return Letter, where Santa confirms that he received your child’s letter and reminds them of the dates he’ll be visiting.

STEP 5: CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS DAY

 

When Christmas Day arrives, celebrate as you normally would.

 

The night before:

 

• Leave out milk and cookies for Santa
• Leave reindeer food (optional)
• If you’ll be away from home, bring your child’s stocking with you so Santa knows where to leave his surprise.

 

On Christmas morning, Santa leaves:

 

• A filled stocking
• One special gift from Child's wish list from letter

 

OUR RECOMMENDATION

 

Choose a gift that is already on your child’s wish list.

 

This helps preserve the magic and avoids disappointment.

 

Many families choose a gift that can provide a full day of enjoyment, such as:

 

• A favorite toy
• Roller skates or rollerblades
• A game
• An outdoor activity item
• A special surprise they’ve been hoping for

 

Parents may also choose to give an additional gift of their own if desired.

 

Then enjoy your Christmas Day together knowing that Santa has another special visit planned or he already visited for your Family Christmas Day.

STEP 6: CELEBRATE YOUR FAMILY CHRISTMAS DAY

 

When your Family Christmas Day arrives, the magic continues.

 

The night before:

 

• Leave out milk and cookies again
• Reindeer food (optional)
• Re-read the story (optional)
• Talk about Santa’s upcoming visit

 

Then build excitement by reminding your child:

 

“Tonight is the night Santa comes back (or early) for our Family Christmas Day!”

 

The next morning, Santa’s first or second stop is complete.

 

Children wake up to:

 

• Presents under the tree
• A filled stocking
• A full Christmas morning with all of the family at home
• A day spent celebrating together

 

This becomes your family’s main Christmas celebration and a tradition your child will remember for years to come.

REMEMBER…

 

There is no right or wrong way to celebrate Santa Stops Twice™.

 

Some families keep it simple with one stocking and one gift on Christmas Day (Recommended).

 

Others create elaborate countdowns and extra surprises.

 

The magic isn’t in how much you do, it’s in helping your child feel seen, loved, and included.
