Wrap the book in tissue paper and place in a gift box as a special gift from Santa.
Add our free downloadable note from Santa on top of the book before wrapping the box.
For the most magical experience, use red-and-white Christmas wrapping paper or our coordinating Santa Stops Twice™ wrapping paper available on our website (coming soon)
Add our free downloadable gift tag label addressed to your child and place on top of wrapped book.
Leave the package somewhere magical:
• Under the Christmas tree
• In the mailbox
• By the front door
• Near the fireplace
• Delivered by an elf (optional)Use your creativity and choose the delivery method that will be most exciting for your child.
Ideas for extra magic:
• Add a candy cane on top of the wrapped box or some candy inside the box with the book.
• Add Santa Stops Twice™ Ornament in the box
• Add Santa Stops Twice™ Tee shirt, hot coco mugs, plush teddy bear or other items from our store in the box for child to use before Christmas and as a reminder Santa is Stopping Twice!
When your child discovers the package, act surprised and excited!
If they ask what it is, you might say:
“I’m not sure! It looks like a gift arrived early from the North Pole! Let’s find out together!”
Open the gift and read the notecard from Santa and the story together from beginning to end.
Take your time and allow your child to ask questions as they discover Santa’s special plan for their Christmas.
After reading the story, explain how special it is that Santa is making an extra stop just for your family!
Next, help your child(ren) complete their Letter(s) to Santa.
You can either use the letter included in the back of the book or print additional full size downloadable letters from our website for each of your children.
Then together, choose your very own Family Christmas Day™ and help your child(ren) fill out the letter(s). Explain to them that Santa arranged to have the big Christmas Day on your Family Christmas Day and he will still stop by on December 25 to bring a special gift and filled stocking.
Once completed:
• Place the letter in an envelope addressed to Santa or use our printable North Pole envelope cover template to attach to envelope
• Have child “mail” the letter to Santa
Circle "Christmas Day" and your "Family Christmas Day™" dates on your calendar or download our printable calendar for your child to put on fridge or someplace for them to start getting excited and begin counting down to their special Christmas celebrations!
After the letter has been mailed, you can keep things simple or add extra magic.
You may choose to:
• Download Santa’s Return Letter, where Santa confirms that he received your child’s letter and reminds them of the dates he’ll be visiting. Place in Mailbox for child to find.
• Leave the book out under the tree so your child can read it again and again
• Remind them that Santa will be stopping twice this year! Remind them that on Christmas Day he will fill their stocking and bring a special gift and then on their "Family Christmas Day" ™ he will bring all of the gifts!
• Use our optional countdown calendar
• Create your own countdown tradition and don't forget to leave out milk and cookies the night before both stops.
When December 24 arrives, celebrate as you normally do:
• Leave out milk and cookies for Santa
• Leave reindeer food (optional)
• If you’ll be away from home, bring your child’s stocking with you so Santa knows where to leave his surprise.On December 25, Christmas morning, Santa leaves:
• A filled stocking
• One special gift from Child's wish list from letterIMPORTANT RECOMMENDATION
Choose a gift that your child wrote on their wish list to Santa.
This helps preserve the magic and avoids disappointment.
Many families choose a gift that can provide a full day of enjoyment, such as:
• A favorite toy
• A game
• An outdoor activity item
• A special surprise they’ve been hoping forParents may also choose to give an additional gift of their own if desired.
Then enjoy December 25 together knowing that Santa has another special visit planned or he already visited for your Family Christmas Day.
When your Family Christmas Day arrives, the magic continues.
The night before your Family Christmas Day:
• Leave out milk and cookies again
• Reindeer food (optional)
• Re-read the story to get excited(optional)
• Talk about Santa’s upcoming visitThen build excitement by reminding your child:
“Tonight is the night before Santa comes back (or early) for our BIG Family Christmas Day!”
The next morning, Santa’s first or second stop is complete.
Children wake up to:
• Presents under the tree
• A filled stocking
• A full Christmas morning with all of the family at home
• A day spent celebrating togetherThis becomes your family’s main Christmas celebration and a tradition your child will remember for years to come.
REMEMBER…
There is no right or wrong way to celebrate Santa Stops Twice™.
Some families keep it simple with one stocking and one gift on Christmas Day (Recommended).
Some families create elaborate countdowns and extra surprises.
The magic isn’t in how much you do, it’s creating your own Tradition that works for your family schedule and creates more magic for your child to feel seen, loved, and included.
